in response to my request for Christmas Recipes, listener June called in with her recipe for Almond bread - I took down the ingredients as she spoke- I hope my dictation skills are up to it : - 

JUNE'S ALMOND BREAD 

beat 3 egg whites  until stiff  

add 

1/2 cup castor sugar

fold in

4oz white almonds and 1 cup of plain flour 

pour mixture  into a log tin

bake for 35 mins in a moderate oven 

allow to cool then slice thinly with a sharp knife.
